Tensions between the ABC and the government have once again boiled over, despite Scott Morrison’s intentions to steer well clear of the ABC controversies his predecessors delighted in stoking.
The NSW government says its hotel quarantine system is at capacity and it would welcome the federal government opening a purpose-built facility in the state.

Both women are, of course, survivors of sexual assault, and both women have bravely gone public with their stories in order to enact change. However, Brittany Higgins has faced an additional – and enormous – pressure on account of her alleged rape taking place within Parliament House.

Her account has triggered protests, inquiries, weeks of Senate Estimates hearings, and an investigation as to whether the Prime Minister’s Office “backgrounded” journalists in order to cast doubt on her story. (
The Victorian coronavirus outbreak and aged care are some of the issues which will be discussed today when National Cabinet meets for the first time in four weeks.
This comes after it was revealed the federal government does not know how many workers in its aged care sector have been vaccinated during Senate Estimates earlier in the week.
The vaccine rollout and COVID-19 disaster payments for businesses and households will also be discussed as pressure mounts on the government to provide a roadmap out of the pandemic.
