Shaba’s confirmation followed the consideration of a report by the Senate Committee on Science and Technology.
In her presentation, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife, said although the Committee did not receive any petition against Shaba’s nomination from any member of the Space Council, the few received from some groups were not substantiated with verifiable evidence.
According to the lawmaker, Shaba showed evidence of more than twenty-one years of post-doctoral research experience in space science – six years above the minimum requirement.
Ekwunife emphasized that the nominee was screened in line with the criteria contained in the Act establishing the agency, the Senate Standing Rules 2015 (as amended) and the Principles of the Committee.

The statement which was signed by the commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, said one Adamu Bala, was killed by unknown persons while fishing at a river.
‘Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have reported a killing between Zangon Urban and Ungwan Ruhogo, Zangon Kataf local government area.”
“The victim, one Adamu Bala, was killed by unknown persons after he went fishing at the river in the said location on Monday 12th April 2021. His corpse was found on the riverbank yesterday, Tuesday 13th April 2021. He has since been buried.

THE National Assembly has expressed its readiness to amend the Constitution to ensure gender parity and enact laws to improve the fortunes of women and girls in Nigeria.
This was just as the Senate resolved to expunge provisions of the law as contained in the Police Act, Federal Character Law, Electoral Act, Labour Act and Political Parties constitutions, which infringed on the rights of women in Nigeria.
The decision was conveyed amidst resolutions reached on Wednesday during plenary when the Upper Chamber considered a motion on the 2021 International Women’s Day Celebration with the theme: “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-l9 world #Choose To Challenge”.
