Elder statesman and Pioneer chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State chairman, Chief Tony Ukasanya has lambasted Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu for allegedly failing to lay a solid foundation for the infrastructural development to thrive in the state when he held sway as Governor of Abia between 1999 to 2007.
Ukasanya lamented that at the early stage of Orji Kalu’s past administration, nothing was planned and due to the lack of foundation, it became difficult for people coming after that tenure of government to follow with a plan.
He maintained that nothing was on the ground for other successive governments to follow.

Former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Kalu has described the attack on Bende police station by unidentified hoodlums as cruel and wicked.
According to Kalu, the perpretaroros of the barbaric act must be identified in a bid to bring them to book.
While stressing that law enforcement agencies should be motivated for their patriotic efforts in securing the nation, Kalu called for robust collaboration among the three tiers of government in the fight against insecurity.
In his remarks following the burning of Bende police station, the Senate Chief Whip advised the perpretaroros of the attack to desist from criminality, adding that the destruction of public assets procured with tax payers money is painful and demoralizing.

DAILY POST gathered that the students were kidnapped while transiting on a bus on Okigwe-Uturu Road.
Reacting to the ugly incident, a renowned economist, Dr. Alex Otti called on relevant authorities and security agencies to swiftly swing into action and ensure timely rescue of the students without harm, and promised to offer the necessary support and assistance that could fasten the release of the students.
Otti viewed such acts of violence against the students as wicked, barbaric and reprehensible, and reminded the perpetrators of the dastardly act that nothing justifies any form of violence against innocent members of the society, much more students on legitimate academic pursuit.
Sufuyan Ojeifo writes that Kalu is conversant with the dynamics of presidential power politics
I watched and listened to the interview that a former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, granted on Sunday, April 25, 2021, on Channels Television’s “Politics Today”, anchored by Seun Okinbaloye. To be sure, Kalu is the Senate Chief Whip, and on both scores of political accomplishments, his qualification to speak on the number of issues that the interviewer attempted to interrogate through his perspectives cannot be faulted.
Kalu answered questions on the festering insecurity in the country and the burgeoning controversy over 2023 presidency. He alluded to some between-and-betwixt issues during the engagement. I had many takeaways from the interview session. But the crux of the takeaways, which I consider the real McCoy, was Kalu’s response to the question that bordered on his purported interest in the 2023 presidency.
