The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) says it is expecting 700 attendees at its 3-4 March 2021 launch of SingapoReimagine MICE Virtual Show, a platform for local and international MICE players to connect.
The two-day event will be part of Singapore’s efforts to catalyse the MICE industry’s recovery and generate business opportunities. It will feature live-streamed cultural and leisure tours, culinary masterclasses by celebrity chefs, and a live panel discussion with industry leaders on organising pilot events in Singapore. The event will also facilitate 1-on-1 virtual meetings between participants and up to 40 leading suppliers including hotels, convention centres and tour operators.
The autonomous buses deployed in the trial were developed by ST Engineering, while the mapping programme used to guide the vehicles was built by GPS Lands. Public transport companies SBS Transit and SMRT will operate the service routes in Jurong Island and Science Park 2, respectively.
The AfA said in statement Monday that the pilot was expected to end April 30 and it would assess the findings before deciding on the next steps. In order to gain more data and insights that will be valuable to the development of future urban mobility services, the two routes differ in physical conditions, commuter and partner mix, service and vehicle type, as well as operation concepts, it added.

That trend, which emerged in earnest during the July through September period, is pivotal to the profitability of those gaming venues. It comes at a time when the city-state’s tourism industry is still hindered by regional travel restrictions stemming from the coronavirus pandemic.
In the final three months of 2020, MBS generated an operating profit of $144 million. This is up 106 percent from the prior quarter. Las Vegas Sands (NYSE:LVS), owner of the venue, delivered that figure last week when it reported fourth-quarter results. Rival Genting Singapore hasn’t updated investors yet, but analysts expect that operator will report similarly encouraging data.
