Residents of sleepy mountain villages sprinkled throughout the foothills around Pollock Pines await their fate as one of Northern California’s many major fires grows unchecked.
Several fires, including the still-growing Dixie Fire, are burning in Northern California. The U.S. Forest Service said it is operating in "crisis mode."
