An Edinburg woman is still trying to get her house fixed after it was heavily damaged by Hurricane Hanna in July.
Norma Vega has been staying in a hotel since Hurricane Hanna hit. A week ago, Vega s insurance company said they could no longer cover her stay and that she had to return home to a house that she says is not yet finished. I went into the utility room and the whole ceiling fell on my head, Vega said. I mean right on my head.

Earth was besieged by a record 50 billion-dollar weather disasters in 2020, the most such disasters ever recorded after adjusting for inflation, said insurance broker Aon (formerly called Aon Benfield) in its annual report issued January 25. The previous record was 46 billion-dollar weather disasters, set in 2010 and 2011. The annual average of billion-dollar weather disasters since records began in 1990 is 29.
