Dollar General announced plans to offer produce in up to 10,000 communities over the next several years, with a meaningful number of those stores in current United States Department of Agriculture defined food deserts. The company also unveiled an operational partnership with Feeding America, as well as a $1 million donation to the organization, to provide access to food resources in rural and otherwise underserved communities and to proactively address food insecurity across the country.

The center of Hurricane Elsa has formed to the east of the Windward and southern Leeward islands and is expected to bring heavy rainfall to those areas over the weekend, according to an update Friday from the National Hurricane Center.

Legalman Cameron had worked at the Naval Construction Battalion Center for the past four years, serving as a paralegal.
During the end of tour ceremony, Legalman Cameron was honored with the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his dedication, leadership, and passion during his time in the Navy in Gulfport.
In a month, he’ll be moving to Naples, Italy with his family to continue his work with the Navy.
When he and his family originally moved to Gulfport, they knew no one and were extremely grateful for how welcoming the community is. “A great part of the experience down here is that no matter where we’ve been or where we’ve went in this area, it’s been open arms and they’ve been very grateful and respectful of the military. We appreciate that as a family that is out of their comfort zone.”
