Since farmers from Punjab and elsewhere arrived at Delhiâs borders late last year to protest against the Narendra Modi governmentâs new farm laws, the incumbent dispensation has spared no trick to vilify and delegitimize them. The latest such attempt is the April edition of
Panchjanya, Hindi mouthpiece of the RSS, the mothership of Modiâs BJP and sundry Hindu supremacist groups collectively known as the Sangh Parivar.
The magazine features 14 farmers who it claims have been benefiting from Modiâs agriculture policies and are leading India towards âchange and prosperityâ

2 killed, 2 injured in Reasi mishap
Reasi, Apr 07: Two persons were killed while two others received injuries in a road accident that took place at Lower Dugga in Reasi district on Wednesday.
The mishap took place in the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday when a tanker bearing registration number JK02AB-9882 plunged in roadside gorge at Lower Dugga while it was on way to Dugga from Reasi.
In this accident, police said that two persons identified as Mohinder Pal of Gabbar Bhomag and Dhayan Singh of Lamsora Arnas were killed, adding that two persons were injured in the mishap who were identified as Tariq of Dharote and Surjeet Singh of Dharote.
Crime Branch files supplementary chargesheet in multi-crore cooperative fraud in Jammu
JAMMU: The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday filed a supplementary chargesheet against a couple here for duping people of nearly Rs 2.93 crore in the name of a co-operative with promise of providing higher rates of interest.
The chargesheet was filed in a local court against Surjeet Singh, the then chairman-cum-managing director of Rural Development Multipurpose Cooperative Limited and his wife Jyoti Pawar in the case filed in 2019 against them under various sections of Ranbir Panel Code and the Banking Regulation Act, a spokesman of the Crime Branch, Jammu said.
