Crews knock down kitchen fire in Sun Prairie duplex

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. A cooking mishap inside a Sun Prairie home caused more than $100,000 in damage Thursday, according to a news release.
Sun Prairie Fire & Rescue responded to the 2000 block of Wisconsin Avenue for a report of a kitchen fire. Crews arrived and saw heavy smoke coming from two sides of the duplex, though all residents evacuated safely.
Officials quickly knocked down the fire in the kitchen and confirmed the fire had not extended into the attic or other side of the duplex, which did not have any occupants currently living there.
