Initial phase of Preah Sihanouk road project done

A 34-road infrastructure project in Preah Sihanouk province has completed initial construction of concrete roadways and drainage systems and is on schedule to be entirely finished in the first half of next year.
Provincial hall spokesman Kheang Phearum told The Post on December 28 that 98 per cent of light poles had been installed as well as 91 per cent of bulbs.
“As of this month, more than 20 per cent of the infrastructure has been paved. According to the plan, the work of pouring rubberised asphalt on the concrete will be completed before the Khmer New Year in April 2021,” he said.

Ministry moves to pen accord to develop major logistics hub

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport plans to finalise a draft on “Framework Agreement” for the Phnom Penh Logistics Centre (PPLC) development project soon, leading to a signing with the developer, according to minister Sun Chanthol.
Chanthol and senior officials of relevant ministries and institutions met representatives of Singapore-based YCH and international legal adviser Alex Sanford via video link on December 21.

Nine working groups to keep tabs on Siem Reap 38-road project

An inter-ministerial committee has set up nine technical working groups to inspect and monitor the construction techniques being utilised to build 38 roads in Siem Reap town.
These working groups will assess the work of the construction crews implementing these projects by regularly inspecting each construction site in person so that all road-building crews operate under the legally required conditions for worker and public safety and correctly make use of standard and approved construction techniques.

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The Cambodian government, through three relevant ministries, issued an inter-ministerial prakas (declaration) allowing disabled people to have the right to legally get a driver’s licence.
The prakas was co-signed by Minister of Public Works and Transport Sun Chanthol, Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng, and Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation Vong Soth on Dec 3 and made public on Dec 10.
It states that disabled people have the right to drive motorcycles with engine displacements greater than 125cc, or that utilise more than 11kW of electricity, as well as motorcycles with trailers, tuk-tuks and four-wheeled motorcycles.
