The governments of Canada and Quebec have finalized an agreement with Formula One World Championship (FOWC) to ensure the return of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada and its extension into 2031, two years beyond the current agreement. Due to the health measures in place to fight COVID-19, the Grand Prix du Canada is being cancelled for a second year in a row. The event will nonetheless return next year and will be held as outlined in the contract among the partners and the FOWC.

The Tasmanian family of a man who was tragically killed while driving in the Targa Tasmania event on Saturday have paid tribute to their good-humoured, ever-generous, fix-anything, fondly mischievous dad. Our dad absolutely loved Targa and was thrilled to be competing again, his three children James, Natalie and Sarah said in a statement. We re having an impossible time. Dad was a loving older brother to John and Katrina, fun uncle to his nieces and nephews, and beloved grandfather to his little revheads-in-training, Jack and Max.
