Meet RPS New Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Written by Ridgefield Public Schools
Ridgefield Public Schools announced today the appointment of Cory Gillette, M.S.Ed., as the new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Gillette comes to Ridgefield from the Darien Public Schools, where she has worked since 2013, first as a Literacy Program K-12 Coordinator then K-5 English Language Arts and Social Studies Program Director.
RPS Superintendent Dr. Susie Da Silva cited Gillette’s experience with Darien’s K-12 curriculum alignment as critical to RPS’s programmatic needs. “She has the experience to look at curriculum implementation at the elementary level to inform students’ middle and high school success.” Gillette’s depth of knowledge with the Wilson, Fundations, and Orton-Gillingham approaches to literacy will be particularly important here. Superintendent of Ridgefield Public Schools, Dr. Susie Da Silva has announced that tomorrow, December 17, will be a SNOW DAY!
Schools will be closed for all students, faculty and staff. No remote learning. The last day of school will now be June 14.
All offices will be closed.
All after-school activities scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled and/or will be rescheduled for a later date.
For Friday, December 18, 2020:
Students will not be attending school in-person.
Schools will be a full or delayed remote learning day, so long as conditions (e.g. power, internet connectivity) in and out of Ridgefield allow for an appropriate student learning experience. If we are unable to achieve this goal, a traditional snow day with no remote learning will be announced, and the last day of school will then be June 15.
