Wayne LaPierre faced questions about the embarrassing video during the group’s federal bankruptcy trial on Thursday.
A lawyer for the NRA’s former publicity firm Ackerman McQueen cited the footage, widely viewed as a public relations disaster for the gun group, to undermine the CEO’s testimony that he aimed to appeal to “mainstream America.”

A graphic video showing National Rifle Association honcho Wayne LaPierre indulging in a botched-up elephant kill in Botswana has surfaced, leaving many disgusted. The video, shot eight years ago, was part of the NRA sponsored television series, Under Wild Skies.
The video, which was never aired anticipating a public backlash, was accessed by The New Yorker and The Trace. The incident dates back to 2013 when the LaPierre and his wife Susan LaPierre travelled to Okavango Delta, Botswana, to hunt down African Bush elephants.

Obviously, Wayne LaPierre is more comfortable shopping for high-end suits on Rodeo Drive than he is wielding the weapons of death he markets so successfully. What an elite weenie!
Yesterday, the New Yorker broke the story about his 2013 attempt to shoot an elephant in Botswana at point-blank range and his guide had to finish off the poor suffering creature. His wife Susan killed her elephant with one shot, and was absolutely thrilled to cut off its tail.
The scene was shot for an NRA-sponsored TV show called Under Wild Skies, but the segment never aired when they realized it would be a PR fiasco. Well, better late than never, Wayne!
