By Press Association 2021 Alan Edwards A “violent and controlling” bully who murdered a missing mother-of-five has been jailed for a minimum of 27 years. Alan Edwards, 48, pretended he last saw Susan Waring when he claimed she kissed him goodbye and walked out of his flat in Darwen, Lancashire, on January 30 2019. But the prosecution said he was a “bully” who killed the 45-year-old, disposed of her body and then attempted to cover his tracks. After Edwards was arrested in March 2019, a forensic examination of his flat in Blackburn Road, Darwen, found blood in various locations and on items throughout the premises. Stomach churning new pictures show Halloween mask worn by killer as he attacked partner A stomach-churning picture of a skeleton mask which was worn by a killer as he attacked his girlfriend has been released. Alan Edwards was this morning jailed for a minimum term of 27 years after he was found guilty of the murder of Darwen woman Susan Waring. New pictures released by the police following the court hearing show a mask which was covered in Susan’s DNA – which Edwards was believed to have been wearing while he attached her. Susan’s body has never been found. After Edwards was arrested in March 2019, a forensic examination of his flat in Blackburn Road, Darwen, found blood in various locations and on items throughout the premises.

Sick bully jailed for life with minimum of 27 years for the murder of missing Susan Waring A SICK bully who once set a ferret on a woman as a form of torture has been jailed for a minimum of 27 years for murdering his girlfriend – whose body remains missing. Alan Edwards was found guilty of the murder of Susan Waring – and a catalogue of vile offences against several other women – following a trial which lasted 11 weeks at Preston Crown Court. He has now learned his fate after Mr Justice James Goss passed down a sentence of life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years.
