Will Apple’s latest Siri update spark a change in the way that AI assistants are often female voices by default?
Yesterday (31 March), it was revealed that Apple would no longer set a default voice for Siri. Instead, iOS users would be prompted to decide whether they would prefer a male or female voice on set-up.
While the default for Siri was male in some regions, the voice of Siri that has been popularised is that of a woman. For many years, it was likely the voice of Susan Bennett. 7th Circ. Tosses Custodian s Post-Janus Suit Over Dues

The unanimous decision from the three-judge panel upheld a lower court ruling dismissing custodian Susan Bennett s bid to recover dues she paid Council 31 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees both before and after the court s 2018 ruling in Janus v. Galloway died this week at the age of 76.
He leaves behind a legacy of helping people. His passion? Feeding the hungry.
“Our generation was blessed to have Sam Galloway,” said Lee County Commissioner Frank Mann.
Mann grew up sitting down next to Galloway in church. He watched his friend take over the family business and become a selfless man of service.
“When he was bitten by the Christian bug to serve, boy did he serve,” Mann said.
Galloway is perhaps known best for founding the Community Cooperative soup kitchen.
“There’s an awful lot of hungry people, needy people, people without shelter,” Galloway said.
