FijiLive that she has not been able to sell any of her produce for more than a month due to the lockdowns in place. She said she relies on this business to feed her two children and the last lockdown really affected them as most of their perishable products went to waste.

Social distancing floor markings have now been drawn up outside many of the major supermarkets, banks and post offices in the wider Suva area today.
Many of the supermarkets now have people stationed outside to ensure that people are standing on the floor markings.
There are long lines of people outside all the supermarkets in Suva.

People found not following social distancing regulations within the Central Business District (CBD) such as in supermarkets and markets could be charged.
Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said this also goes for businesses that fail to have proper markings to display the two-metre social distancing.

OPERATIONS OF MUNICIPAL MARKETS IN THE CONTAINMENT AREAS

The Ministry of Local Government, in line with the recent Fijian Government directive on movements, wishes to advise that the Ministry, together with the Municipal Councils, is working to ensure market produce is made available within the Containment Areas.
Effective today, residents living in Suva Zone are advised that the Suva Market, Flagstaff Mini Market, Raiwaqa Mini Market, Nabua Mini Market, Kaukimoce Mini Market and Laqere market will be operating as normal. In addition, the Lami Market and Delainavesi Mini Market in Lami Zone are continuing its operations, as well.
Similarly for Suva Zone, consumers residing in Nasinu can visit the Makoi and Narere mini markets, as well as the Laqere market. For Nausori, consumers can go to the Nausori market to buy their vegetables, fruits and fish. The closing hour for the Nausori and Laqere markets is at 4pm.
