Under Dominican law, there are several types of ownership of real estate. The
most common is absolute property, similar to the common law concept
of freehold, which grants the titleholders, according to Article 51
of the Constitution, the right to enjoy, make use of and dispose of
their properties.
Other types of ownership of real estate recognized under
Dominican law are (1) co-ownership under Condominium Law 5038 of
