Passengers who arrived on Air Canada being welcomed by local tourism officials.
With flights from Germany and Canada, as well as the introduction of new flights from Switzerland, Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says the island’s tourism industry is steadily rebounding from the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tourism officials on Sunday welcomed Air Canada and Condor at the MBJ-operated Sangster International Airport (SIA) in Montego Bay, while Edelweiss Air is expected late on Monday evening.
“This week and the week to come are very significant for us in tourism. Sunday we see the return of flights from Germany and Canada, which are significant source markets for the country. And I am also happy to announce that on Monday we will welcome a new flight from Switzerland. It is therefore very safe to say that tourism is steadily rebounding and the demand for Jamaica is at an all-time high,” said Bartlett.
