Vehicles With Unregistered, Fake, Covered Plate Numbers To Be Impounded – Lagos Police

LAGOS – Police Operatives in Lagos have commenced the arrest of unregistered vehicles, those with covered numbers plates, fake number plates and unauthorised use of siren in the state. This was as a result of directive as the directive by the State command to check the irregularities and uncare attitude of vehicle owners in Lagos. The Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of the Lagos Police Command have commenced the operation by impounding three vehicles on Friday 8th January, 2021, for covering their number plates and 43 motorcycles for plying prohibited routes in Alausa Business District, Ikeja. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, had warned vehicle owners against these acts of illegality towards the end of year 2020 as a result of the intelligence gathered on the planned usage of these categories of vehicles and motorcycles for committing crimes in the state and beyond.
