Locally, my first significant item was to lead the discussion on the issue of the extension of Highway 17, ensuring that it was firmly placed into the capital plan for transportation infrastructure.

A woman was assaulted at Lacamas Regional Park near Round Lake on Saturday before she escaped without injury, according to a news release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 4:30 p.m., a woman was walking alone on a trial in Lacamas Regional Park when she was distracted by a white male in his early 20s with a small build, brown shaggy hair and light facial hair. He was last seen wearing grey shorts, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and all-black Nike “skater-type” shoes. The man approached, grabbed her, assaulted her and attempted to move her off the main trail, according to the news release.
