Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) [India], January 22 (ANI): An NGO president was arrested on Thursday after three women made serious allegations of physical and mental harassment against workers employed in a shelter operated by the organisation.
Since then, the women have been shifted to Nari Niketan here after the allegations surfaced by the Bilaspur Women and Child Development Department Officer Suresh Singh.
According to Singh, the NGO has been shut down following the harassment allegations and might be blacklisted in the future.
The women had alleged in the complaint that the workers of the shelter home run a sex racket there. They have submitted a representation to the Bilaspur Range IG Ratan Lal Dangi.

Senior Congress leader and All India Congress Committee member Santosh Singh on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Jharia Police against an unidentified person, who had given him death threats on Monday at around 8 pm.
Singh in his complaint letter to PK Singh, the inspector cum officer-in charge-of Jharia Police Station, demanded security in the wake of the latest threat to him as well as previous attacks he faced in 2004 and 2009.
Talking to The Telegraph Online on Tuesday noon, Singh said, “I received the threat both on message and a call made from the same mobile number on Monday night and lodged the complaint accordingly.”

In a shocking incident of mass kidnapping, a group of over 100 men belonging to a Madhya Pradesh village allegedly abducted 38 tribal women and children from Rajasthan on suspicion that their husbands stole bikes.
The Rajasthan police rescued the kidnapped women and kids from Madhya Pradesh within hours of the offence and held six of the alleged kidnappers and seized their arms and ammunition and the car used for the abduction on Wednesday afternoon.

JAMMU, Dec 31: Crime Branch Jammu today produced charge-sheet against two real brothers, who are accused of duping people by impersonating as RTO and offering fake incentive schemes on purchase of cars.
Charge-sheet was presented against Rakesh Singh and Suresh Singh, both sons of Kehar Singh, resident of Jattana Dey Kothey, Dehrian, Hamirpur Sidhar, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu, in case FIR No. 04/2020 U/S 420, 465, 468 IPC of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu. The charge-sheet was produced in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu for judicial determination.
The case was registered on a written complaint by Kulwant Singh of GTB Nagar Channi Rama Jammu alleging therein that his wife received a phone call from an unknown mobile number who claimed to be RTO Jammu and former Additional Secretary to Governor J&K, for a request to adjust the services of one of the employees of Distt Youth Service & Sports, Jammu.
