Rob Robets MP, Delyn AN MP who made repeated unwanted sexual advances to a member of staff has apologised for the breach of trust . Rob Roberts was stripped of the Tory whip after a complaints panel found he abused his position of authority and broke Parliament’s sexual misconduct policy. He faces a six week suspension from Parliament - but it will only be imposed if it is approved by MPs. A loophole means the Conservative MP may escape the prospect of his constituents forcing a by-election despite the serious punishment. The disgraced MP apologised and said the “breach of trust” was “completely improper and should not have happened”.
LABOUR is calling for the immediate resignation of a Tory MP after a complaints panel found he sexually harassed a member of staff.
After an appeal, the Commons’ Independent Expert Panel (IEP) found that Rob Roberts, MP for Delyn in North Wales, made repeated and unwanted sexual advances towards one of his employees.
But the recommended six-week suspension can only be imposed if agreed by MPs.
Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner called today for Mr Roberts to quit.
“The fact that such serious abuse doesn’t automatically result in the recall of an MP is absurd and unjust, and the Labour Party will support legislation to rectify that injustice,” she said on social media. “He should not be in his role for another single day more.”

A Conservative MP who has been stripped of the whip and suspended from the Commons for six weeks over unwanted sexual advances will not face a by-election because of obscure process rules.
The Independent Expert Panel (IEP) found that Rob Roberts, the MP for Delyn in North Wales, made repeated and unwanted advances towards a member of his staff, although the MP insisted his actions were romantic rather than sexual.
