During session Thursday, Senator Dillion stressed the need for the establishment of a war and economic crimes court during discussions surrounding the mismanagement of stimulus package funds during the outbreak of the COVID-19.
MONROVIA Senators Prince Johnson of Nimba County and Abraham Darius Dillion of Monsterrado County Thursday plunged into heated argument over the establishment of a war and economic crimes court, disrupting the day’s session.
Sen. Johnson, a former rebel leader of the Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL) who is serving his second nine-year tenure at the National Legislature, captured and killed former president Samuel Doe in the latter part of 1990 as one of Africa’s deadliest wars raged against the first native president whose 1980 coupe ended over 130 years of Americo-Liberians’ reign.

DURING A SUNDAY SERVICE at his Christ Chapel Faith Ministry last Sunday, Senator Prince Y. Johnson, leader of the erstwhile Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia, responsible for committing numerous atrocities during Liberia’s bloody civil war declared that no on should remind him about his past especially, his role in the 14 years civil war that saw about 250,000 lives lost and properties worth millions of dollars destroyed.
“I don’t regret anything I did during the war,” he says.
The former leader of the infamous Liberia Peace Council (LPC) rebels, George S. Boley, has made a public declaration that he does not regret any act he and his forces committed during the brutal civil war that claimed over 250,000 lives over a 14-year period.
Boley, who is now Grand Gedeh County District #2 Representative, made the statement in response to an accusation by his fellow lawmaker, Dickson Seboe, of Montserrado County District #16, who accused him (Boley) of killing his (Seboe’s) people in Sinoe during the war. Rep. Seboe, in a verbal exchange with Boley, called for the establishment of a war crimes court where he believes Boley and others who led warring factions in Liberia can be prosecuted and made to account for atrocities they committed against Liberians.
