More than 400 cases of police officers facing verbal abuse, physical hurt over 2 years

SINGAPORE: There were more than 400 reported cases of police officers who faced verbal abuse or physical hurt while carrying out their duties between 2019 and 2020, said Minister of State for Home Affairs Desmond Tan in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3).
These included incidents where police officers were “challenged by disorderly members of the public”.

Water gushing out from the drain by the roadside
According to Low Yen Ling, the Member of Parliament at Chua Chu Kang GRC, the incident happened at around 7pm on July 15.
The water came gushing down from the drain located on the slope near Block 383 in Goodview Gardens. via vijaymunis3/TikTok.
This led to water overflowing into Bukit Batok West Avenue 5, which is the road below this slope, Low said.
This caused the road to become muddy and wet.

In response, various agencies were mobilised.
