Allahabad HC stays arrest of ‘Mirzapur’ makers Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Friday stayed the arrest of producers of “Mirzapur” web series Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani in connection with a first information report that accused them of improper and indecent portrayal of the town Mirzapur and outraging religious belief.
However, a division bench of justices Manoj Kumar Gupta and Subhash Chand directed the petitioners to offer full cooperation in the investigation while granting the relief.
Hearing a writ petition filed by Akhtar and Sidhwani, the court issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government and complainant seeking their replies and listed the case in the first week of March.
They had forged documents and produced fake witnesses
Three persons, including two advocates, have been arrested by the Haryana Police for allegedly selling two acres to a private firm in Gurugram through fraudulent means.
Disclosing this, Manoj Yadava, Director General of Police, Haryana, said the land in village Islampur, which was acquired by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran in 1993, was sold to a private company for ₹2 crore on the basis of fake and forged documents and witnesses.
To make quick money, accused Rohit Thakaran of village Jharsa and Ajay Choudhry, a resident of village Islampur, hatched a plan and got the land transferred to the name of Ajay by producing fake witnesses who impersonated Murti Devi, Lakshmi Devi and Bala Devi, who were the original owners of the two acres of ancestral property.

NEW DELHI: After nearly three years of probe, the CBI has filed a charge sheet against four police personnel of Haryana for allegedly framing a bus conductor in the killing of a seven-year-old student of a private school in Gurugram in September 2017, officials said on Friday.
The student was killed on September 8 allegedly by a senior student.
