BJP MPs in IT panel ‘uniquely’ foil Pegasus discussion

Nineteen members were present in the room where the IT panel meeting was to be held and 10 were from the BJP-led NDA and nine from the opposition. The 10 NDA MPs did not sign the attendance register. As per Rule 259(1), at least 1/3 of the total strength (which means 10 members in a panel of 31, including the chairperson) is required to complete the quorum.

The IT Standing Committee has been a divided panel, with BJP and opposition members at loggerheads on issues at almost every sitting.
