Flipflopi embarks on its second voyage in Africa Umber Studio/Flipflopi / 12 Mar 2021 The Flipflopi, a dhow made from recycled plastic, has set sail on its second voyage, taking to riverine communities in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya to highlight the importance of reversing the damage of plastic pollution to communities that depend on Lake Victoria. Embarking from Kisumu, Kenya on 7 March, the Flipflopi crew will spend three weeks on the water, engaging with communities, activists and local entrepreneurs, and highlighting the challenge of microplastics and their impact on fish stocks and water quality. Watch: Neil Agius tows Santa across Malta-Gozo channel Tista taqra bil- On Sunday, olympian swimmer Neil Agius completed his swim across the Malta-Gozo channel in just over two hours. This challenge was no easy feat, as Agius was also pulling the weight of a person,dressed as Santa Claus, on a paddleboard. The swimmer departed from Marfa at 9.35am, and arrived at Ħondoq ir-Rummien at 11.36 am, a pace of around 3km/hr.  This challenge aims to raise awareness about obesity. His friend Michael Galea has pledged to lose 10kg if Agius succeeds in pulling him across the channel.   CHALLENGE COMPLETED Neil Agius managed to pull Mixu to Gozo in just about 2 hours, completing the Obesity Awareness…Posted by Wave Of Change Malta on Sunday, December 20, 2020
