According to Liberty County Sheriff, Will Bowman, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in locating a murder suspect identified as Christopher Anthony Guilfo Jr.  Guilfo had been indicted by a Grand Jury in Dooly County, Georgia for murder charges stemming from an incident in 2017. Guilfo was allegedly involved in a shooting involving two street gangs, the Bloods, and the Gangster Disciples.

Allenhurst fire displaces family of two Fire occurred Sunday morning An early morning fire in the 200 block of Salette Street has left a man and a woman displaced after their mobile home was destroyed in the  blaze. According to Walthourville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Fire Chief, Anthony Burns the fire was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. when the male occupant of the home smelled smoke.  When he went to investigate he encountered heavy smoke in the hallway and jumped out of a window to safety.  When fire fighters arrived they encountered flames shooting from a bedroom window.  The firefighters were able to gain entry into the residence through the front door and bring the fire under control within nine minutes.  Burns said it’s too early to determine how the fire started.  

Parents face misdemeanor charges after 1-year-old found dead in pool in Liberty County, deputies say

DAISETTA, Texas – Liberty County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a case after a 1-year-old girl was found dead in a neighbor’s pool. Deputies said the family had reported that the child was missing, but was later found dead by a family member before investigators arrived. The family reported the baby girl missing on Monday afternoon from the parent’s home on West Pine Street in Daisetta, Texas. ”As you would imagine, the investigators were asking the logical questions,” said Liberty County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Captain Ken DeFoor. “The parents said that they put the child down to sleep, took a nap and when they checked on the child about two hours later, she wasn’t there.”
