Fed up of Covid duty, nursing student hangs self | Rajkot News

Sujata Chauhan RAJKOT: A 22-year-old nursing student committed suicide, allegedly because she was fed up with the Covid duty assigned to her in the Rajkot Civil Hospital. Sujata Chauhan, who was studying in the third-year of a private nursing college in the city, was founding hanging in her room at the government hostel near Jubeli Baug on Tuesday evening. Chauhan was a native of Lakhtar village in Jamnagar’s Jodiya taluka. “Her father Pravin, a farmer, told us that Sujata had spoken to her mother on Tuesday afternoon and lamented that she was extremely tired of work and wanted to return home by taking one month leave,” said HS Nimavat, investigating officer, A-division police station.

RAJKOT: A 22-year-old nursing student allegedly committed suicide inside her hostel room in Rajkot on Tuesday evening. She was assigned duty in a Covid ward. According to her family members the student was frustrated with her work. According to the accidental death report filed with A Division police station, Sujata Chauhan, who was studying in third year in a private college, was found dead in her hostel room. She was on Covid duty for the past four months at Rajkot Civil Hospital and for that she was provided accommodation in a government hostel near Jubilibag. According to the police, her room mate found her body hanging from a ceiling fan on Tuesday night. She then informed the warden of the hostel and the police.
