April 11 is National Pet Day, although say that to my dog Earl and you ll likely get the side eye. Earl is a standard poodle, and poodles can be, well, a tad uppity. Earl believes and rightfully so every day is Pet Day. They re more than just furry mess-makers. The National Institutes of Health says pets can help lower cortisol, cholesterol and blood pressure levels. They ve been especially important in the past year with so many of us working from home. They ve kept loneliness at bay and given us a reason to get up and get outside. In return, 18% of us spent more on our pets in 2020, according to a Harris Poll conducted last spring.

Bridgerton is a beautiful place to visit

Friends started talking about it in January, and my interest immediately was piqued. I love Bridgerton because it reminded me of Gossip Girl, but set in the 1800s, said Niki Parker Young of Merritt Island. . I think the costumes and scenery are gorgeous. Like the musical Hamilton (which I am also obsessed with), I think it is brilliant to use actors of color in roles that would not have necessarily been a person of color during that time period. Plus the Duke of Hastings is so hot. I loved having him on my screen. Sounded like my kind of show. I loved Downton Abbey and am easily sucked into anything that involves lavish costumes, royalty and giant British estates.

Yeiber Asconio discovered the Space Coast while driving for Uber at Port Canaveral. He and wife Siolys Munoz, fled Venezuela six years ago in search of the American Dream. After living in Winter Garden, Asconio knew he d found his paradise. Two years ago, Asconio, an accountant by trade, opened Latin Shark, a five-table restaurant in Cape Canaveral specializing in traditional dishes from Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cuba and other Latin American countries.
