GAC Audit Finds Lapses in Compliance at the Liberia Revenue Authority GAC Audit Finds Lapses in Compliance at the Liberia Revenue Authority Share MONROVIA – The joint legislative Public Account Committee (PAC) on Wednesday resumed hearings into audits commissioned by the General Auditing Commission (GAC) with the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) appearing first amongst a host of institutions that are expected to appear. According to Senator Emmanuel Nuquay of Margibi County who chair the PAC, the committee is focused on conducting hearing for audits of heads of institutions who are currently in their position and will later deal with audits involving past officials of Government.

GOVERNMENT AMENDS TARIFF RATES ON SOME IMPORTED GOODS

Government of Montserrat The Government of Montserrat has adjusted the tariff rates on the importation of single use plastic bags, sugary drinks, tobacco products, pure natural drinks, health food supplements, live farm animals, most items of clothes and sanitary products. The new tariff rates took effect on Monday April 12, 2021 under S.R.O. 27 of 2021 Customs Duties and Consumption Tax (Amendment of Schedules) Order. The new tariff rates have therefore now increased for some goods and decreased for others. Cabinet decided to decrease the tariff rates on the importation of the following goods: Pure natural juices– As a healthy alternative to the mostly sugary drinks. Customs Duty
