Following reports of gunshots from Isla Vista residents near Sueno Road, the Isla Vista Foot Patrol pursued a potentially armed suspect late Friday night into early Saturday morning. The fleeing suspect was not apprehended.Â
Isla Vista Foot Patrolâs (IVFP) Community Resource Deputy Justin Schroeder said that the suspect shot their gun by 6631 Sueno Road. According to Schroeder, the residents of that location refused to provide any information and did not press charges.Â
Schroeder told the Nexus Saturday morning that IVFP âfound a bullet casing, but there were no cooperative witnesses, no damage, no victim and no suspect identified.â

The 29-year-oldâs journey in music sprouted in Santa Barbara after he graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2014, a quarter earlier than his friends with whom he had been living on Sueno Road for three years. Cherlandâs newly earned environmental studies degree landed him a job in tech support on nearby Los Carneros Road.

ISLA VISTA, Calif. - A man was arrested in Isla Vista on Friday after Santa Barbara County Sheriff s deputies and UC Santa Barbara police discovered illegal drugs and firearms in his residence.
The officers conducted a search at the 6700 block of Sueno Road as a follow up to a traffic stop they conducted on Dec. 5. During the traffic stop, deputies reportedly located several firearms, firearm accessories and narcotics in the vehicle and identified the passenger in the car as a 35-year-old man. The man was cited and released at the scene for possession of a controlled substance.
