19:34 Taoiseach Micheal Martin says the Covid crisis has been deeply traumatic for the country.
He says the pandemic had taken a toll on the economy and on mental health and Ireland would not know the true cost for some time. We will rebuild society, he said. We will come to terms with this crisis and make sense of the trauma we ve all been through in due course. We will do all these things and start them in the coming year because the vaccine exists but right now we must stay at home and eliminate contacts to make sure that as many of our people as possible are still with us to enjoy the better, brighter days, that are up ahead.

Documents released to the Irish Sun show a number of pitch letters were sent to the Public Expenditure Minister.

Minister McGrath told how today s meeting will examine whether some or all of the amendments need to changed or removed.
The Fianna Fail TD stressed that the main message of Level 5 was for people to stay at home and cut down now on social interactions, in order regain control of the virus spread.
