Lamar Advertising Co. will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 3-7 by honoring teachers on its digital billboards. Anyone can submit a form with a teacher they want to honor on the website www.LamarLovesTeachers.com to display their names and photos on Lamar displays, according to a press release. Teachers have always been vital to our children and our communities, but never more so than during this past year, Sean Reilly, CEO of Lamar Advertising Co., said in the release. Through the #LamarLovesTeachers campaign, we are privileged to use our national digital billboard network to honor, appreciate and praise the many deserving educators across our country who we hope will be excited to see their name and picture on a Lamar digital billboard in their community.

Overland Park police signed a severance deal with a police officer six months before the controversial deal with the officer who shot and killed a 17-year-old teenager backing out of his family s garage, a case now being investigated by the FBI for possible civil rights violations.
KCUR obtained the severance agreement with the first officer, Adam Paddock through a Kansas Opens Records Act request.
The deal was signed by Paddock, who is no longer employed with the police department, on September 14, 2017.
In a report to the Kansas Peace Officers’ Standards and Training (CPOST), the agency that regulates police certification in the state, Overland Park said Paddock “allegedly violated multiple Department policies” and that “progressive discipline resulted in a recommendation of termination.”
