The modern world more and more relies on information exchange using data transfer technologies.
Private and secure communications are fundamental for the Internet, national defence and e-commerce, thus justifying the need for a secure network with the global protection of data. Information exchange through existing data transfer channels is becoming prone to hacker attacks causing problems on an international scale, such as interference with democratic elections, etc.
In reality the scale of the hacking problem is continual, in 2019 British companies were reportedly hit by about 5,000 ransomware attacks that paid out more than $200 million to cyber criminals [1]. During the first half of 2020, $144.2 million has already been lost in 11 of the biggest ransomware attacks [2]. Communications privacy is therefore of great concern at present.
Polymers Made from Lipoic Acid Fully Depolymerize Under Mild Conditions

In this modern age, plastics are one of the most successful materials. But they also contribute to a huge problem of waste.
Scientists from the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shanghai produced different polymers from lipoic acid, a natural molecule. These polymers are easily depolymerized under mild conditions. Some 87% of the monomers can be recovered in their pure form and re-used to make new polymers of virgin quality. Image Credit: Qi Zhang

The first spring after the founding of the People s Republic of China (1949), I was working as a press photographer for Zhejiang Daily. On my very first trip to cover the countryside by myself, I met a farmer named Ye Gentu and his family in Qixing, Jiaxing. After that, they became an important part of my life.
A Photographer and A Family 70 Years of Friendship
In 1950, 1959, 1990, 2008, and 2019, over a timespan of seven decades, I captured the lives of four generations of this family through my lens. As I flip through these photos today and familiar faces appear before my eyes, I see not just the people themselves, but all the millions upon millions of Chinese farmers. I see their kindness, their assiduousness, their humble simplicity, and their
