Nancy Wilson Announces Livestream Show With the Seattle Symphony
Nancy Wilson has announced a special performance alongside the Seattle Symphony.
The Heart rocker will take the stage with the orchestral ensemble for a show July 9 at Benaroya Hall. The Seattle Symphony’s website promises that the “evening of rock ‘n’ roll” will feature songs from throughout Wilson’s iconic career, including “beloved fan favorites like ‘Barracuda,’ ‘These Dreams’ and ‘Crazy on You.’
The setlist will also feature songs from Wilson’s recently released album,
You and Me. The LP marks the first solo effort of the rocker’s Hall of Fame career. “There have been so many times I was asked about when I would ever put out a solo album,” the acclaimed musician explained when announcing the album in October. “Well, the time is now.”

Live Shows Resume as Laguna Beach Music Festival Kicks Off
Acclaimed American composer and pianist Conrad Tao will lead the 2021 Laguna Beach Music Festival as artistic director with live, in-person performances through May 16 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
The festival is co-presented by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Laguna Beach Live. It marks the long-anticipated return to public performances since the pandemic restrictions halted live shows more than a year ago.
“This year’s festival occurs during an ‘anything but normal’ time, yet our goal is to ensure that the music that we’ve all missed, more than anything, is front and center,” Tommy Phillips, Philharmonic Society of Orange County’s president and artistic director, told The Epoch times via email.

The American Solti Foundation announced the young American conductors who have been selected as 2021 recipients of The Sir Georg Solti Career Assistance Award. They are, Assistance Award (in alphabetical order) are conductors:
Nathaniel Efthimiou, founding Music Director of Orchestra Contempo, Assistant Conductor, Boston Civic Symphony, Assistant Director of Music at Boston’s historic Park Street Church and acting Assistant Conductor, Rhode Island Philharmonic;
Kevin Fitzgerald, Assistant Conductor of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Alabama Symphony Youth Orchestra, he is also the founder of the Michigan-based contemporary music ensemble ÆPEX Contemporary Performance;
