Despite being a few points behind several of their league rivals, Hexham are in a good position for when the Northern Alliance Division One season restarts (hopefully) later this year. The Wentworth Leisure Centre based squad – who currently sit fifth in the table - have already faced several of the teams around them after their first 10 games and could have been further up in the standings had the results gone their way. This was the case none more so than in their opening match of the campaign against Haltwhistle Jubilee, where the hosts claimed a 4-3 win with a dramatic last-minute winner after Hexham had pulled back a 3-0 deficit in the second half.
CONTINUING their form from last season, unbeaten Haltwhistle Jubilee are on target for back-to-back promotions. The Jubilee currently sit second in Division One, six points adrift of leaders Prudhoe YC Seniors, but have four games in hand on their rivals. Ten games into their campaign, they remain unbeaten having won nine and drawn one of their games so far and also have the highest goal difference in the division following a string of impressive results. This is no doubt down due to two of the league’s three highest goal scorers, with youngster Aaron Hardy leading the way with 12 goals so far.
