The 64-mile river once explored by Captain John Smith remains a sleeping giant. While eastern Sussex County is known for its variety of outdoor activities and sprawling state parks, to the west, the Nanticoke is a virtually untapped eco-tourism asset.
The river is the most pristine tributary of the Chesapeake Bay and features the highest rate of biodiversity in the watershed, according to Chesapeake Conservancy President and CEO Joel Dunn.

Several Seaford student-athletes commited to colleges. (Seaford School District )
SEAFORD, NY More than a dozen students from Seaford High School are continuing their athletic careers. The 13 Seaford Vikings have committed to schools ranging from Long Island to upstate New York, and from Georgia and Ohio.
The school hosted a college commitment ceremony for the student-athletes in front of the school last week. They were joined by their parents and coaches as well as school and district administrators, the Seaford School District wrote in a statement.
Principal Scott Bersin called them a wonderful group of students and said they will benefit tremendously from their college sports experience.

Former Republican candidate for governor Julianne Murray has filed a lawsuit in federal court on behalf of five Delaware residents against the leadership of the Delaware General Assembly to end virtual meetings and restore meeting in person.
The lawsuit comes after recent gun legislation passed through the General Assembly. The suit claims that the virtual nature of the proceedings did not allow for a fair and open process.
Named defendants in the lawsuit are leaders from both parties, including Bethany Hall-Long, in her capacity as president of the Senate; Senate Pro Tempore David Sokola; Senate Majority Leader Bryan Townsend (whose name is misspelled as Brian in the suit); Minority Leader Gerald Hocker; Majority Whip Pete Schwartzkopf (whose last name is missing a z in the suit); and six other
