Cabinet Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana has revealed this, according to the lead news item in yesterday’s edition of this newspaper. Opinion on any issue is divided along political lines, in this country. The Dhammika peniya has become so politicised that it can now be called a political syrup as it were. A section of the government is promoting it aggressively, and its rivals are ridiculing it as ‘engine oil’. Body of missing fisherman found near Pulau Tikus

MMEA personnel and firemen brought the body of a fisherman Khairul Azhar Mohamad,32 , to Batu Uban marine police jetty after he was found on Thursday (Dec 17) morning. GEORGE TOWN: The body of a missing fisherman has been found, about 2km from the location where he fell into the sea. Penang Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director Capt Abd Razak Mohamed said the body of Khairul Azhar Mohamad, 32, was found by local fishermen some 2.3 nautical miles southeast of Pulau Tikus about 8.07am on Thursday (Dec 17). His remains were taken to the Batu Uban marine police jetty and handed over to Lebuh Pantai and then to the Penang Hospital for further action, he said in a statement.

GEORGE TOWN: A crewman of a fishing boat is missing after he fell into the sea when his boat hit a buoy near Swettenham Pier here on Tuesday (Dec 15) afternoon. Penang Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency director Capt Abd Razak Mohamed said the missing man is 32-year-old Khairul Azhar Mohamad, who was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black pants. He added that Khairul Azhar was not wearing any safety jacket during the incident and added that the other five fishermen on the boat were rescued by other fishermen in the area after the 2.20pm incident. The Maritime Rescue Sub Centre (MRSC) Langkawi was activated when the report was received by the Penang Maritime Operation Center on Tuesday, ” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 16).
