The Communications Decency Act of 1996 (CDA) was a landmark law enacted to regulate content on the internet. The purpose of the legislation was to regulate indecent and obscene material.
According to Paul Chevigny’s book, “Police Power: Police Abuses in New York," disobeying the police is what precipitated violence. Chevigny explained some of the police felt if they had to deal with the undesirables, whether they were criminals or not, anything goes on the street to get these guys and anything goes in court to make a conviction stick.
Fudan Campus: A Dozen Protests Announced Around Same Time, Same Place
A demonstration is being organized in Budapest against the construction of the Chinese Fudan University campus in Hungary. According to the organizer, the current restrictions on gatherings are absurd and impossible to follow, which is why they decided to go around the current regulation by registering 12 different demonstrations with the police instead of one, which will all start within the same timeframe at Heroes’ Square on June 5th.

The world is witnessing the forced expulsion of Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem by settlers supported by Israeli armed forces, indiscriminate violence against Palestinian protestors, attacks on Palestinian holy sites, and indiscriminate bombing of Gaza which has been under blockade for 15 years.
