1964 ~ Mr Ira Wade Coubrough ~ 2021″He will be deeply missed

Mr. Ira ‘Wade’ Coubrough of Edson, Alberta, currently residing in Blackfalds, passed away suddenly at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 56 years. Wade was born in Germany on January 28, 1964; while his parents were posted overseas, as his father was in the Air Force. They moved back to Canada in 1967, and he was finally able to meet his extended family. Wade started school at Air Marshal Johnson School, Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Wade always had very fond memories of PEI, as they were some of his first. In 1973, the family was posted to Moosonee, Ontario, for two years. More great memories of friends and adventures in a northern community; where the only way to reach the Radar Base was by train. Snow machines and bikes were the common ways to travel, or by boat for trips to Moose Factory. In 1974, the family’s next move was closer to his parent’s roots, CFB Penhold, Alberta. Posted Jan 8, 2021 5:12 PM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Bernard Joseph ‘Ben’ Gebbink of Red Deer, Alberta at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the age of 92 years. Ben was born on March 16, 1928 in Zieuwent, Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1952; where he worked on a farm in Quebec, before he moved to Alberta. As planned, Mom also immigrated, and met Dad in Twin Butte, where they were married in 1953. After a short stay in Vauxhall, they moved to Red Deer in 1956. Shortly after they arrived, they purchased an acreage west of Red Deer, where they resided for almost sixty years. In 2015, they moved into Victoria Park, Red Deer. Here, they enjoyed their community; until Dad’s failing health required a three month stay in the hospital. He was then placed into Long Term Care at Extendicare. Red Deer Hospital experiencing influx of COVID-19 patients, postponing surgeries

  RED DEER As of Friday morning, there are four units at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (RDRHC) experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks with two additional units that are under COVID-19 watch. On Tuesday, there were 37 COVID-19 positive patients at the hospital, including 15 individuals who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). AHS says the demand for ICU beds is high. “There continues to be high demand for specialized intensive care, with a number of high acuity patients who do not have COVID-19.” RDRHC has the only ICU beds in the Central Zone. It has 12 ICU beds and another six for the Coronary Care Unit totalling 18 beds that can support critically ill patients who require a ventilator.

COVID-19 restrictions extended in Alberta CBC News Edmonton3 months ago 0:55Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says current provincial restrictions intended to slow the spread of the coronavirus will remain in place for at least two more weeks.0:55 Alberta reported 811 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 additional deaths from the disease on Sunday, according to the latest update posted to the province s website.  This brings the total number of deaths from COVID-19 to 1,284.  There are 794 people in the hospital due to the disease, 128 of whom are in intensive care. The province performed 12,302 tests on Friday.  There are  14,116 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, down by 321 from Saturday.
