Red Neighbours delivers afternoon tea with a difference Liverpool FC s Red Neighbours team is delivering afternoon tea boxes with a difference for its participants to enjoy during lockdown.
Over the next six weeks, the Red Neighbours team will deliver 150 afternoon tea boxes to its walking football, walking netball and chair-based yoga participants as well as ladies from Larks in partnership with the Marina Dalglish Appeal.
All participants will be invited to join a social virtual call hosted by the club’s chaplain and Red Neighbours team member, Bill Bygroves. Special guests will also join the virtual calls throughout the six weeks, which will include friendly chat, anecdotes and a good singalong to finish.
A life-changing year in numbers: LFC s COVID-19 community response Supporting the community isn t new for LFC Foundation and Red Neighbours – yet the requirement throughout the COVID-19 pandemic for even the most basic of needs has become the main focus for the staff and volunteers.
Social isolation, food poverty and wellbeing were soon identified as the three main areas of need in the local community when the lockdown began last March.
Wellbeing: We supported the physical and mental health of our communities by delivering
800 virtual fitness sessions, created online grassroots sports programmes for
7,000 children and supported
69 local schools, helping teachers and children to stay active.

Liverpool s official charity LFC Foundation and their community team Red Neighbours are supporting the Merseyside community this week by delivering more than 850 essential breakfast and lunch parcels to local schools and community hubs.
The LFC Foundation will be providing 500 packed-lunch parcels and 200 breakfast parcels to local families in need of extra support as part of Liverpool’s Unity is Strength community response work. It’s so important for us as a club and neighbour to support our local communities as much as possible during what is a very difficult time for many families, said Forbes Duff, Red Neighbours’ senior manager.
