With more than one million people vaccinated in one week since the mass immunization program began, the Government has been praised for this measure despite some initial organizational drawbacks, but analysts consider that this achievement may be tarnished by the new provisions approved by the Executive.

29 de diciembre de 2020, 15:39Santiago, Chile, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) Chilean Deputy Secretary of Health Paula Daza said on Tuesday that the first local case carrying the new Covid-19 strain found in the United Kingdom was detected. The secretary explained that such strain, characterized by being more contagious, was detected in a Chilean citizen who returned from Spain, but who had been previously in London and Dubai, and tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
According to Daza, the woman was quarantined at her home in the city of Panguipulli, in the region of La Araucania, and after the new strain was detected, she was transferred to the hospital of that municipality, as well as her close contacts.
