Westchester, Rockland schools ranked highly by U S News and World Report

Twenty-five high schools in the Lower Hudson Valley rank among the top 100 in New York state, according to U.S. News and World Report s annual rankings. Bronxville High School ranked highest in the region, No. 13 in New York and No. 145 in the nation. It is the highest-ranking high school in the state outside of New York City. Edgemont (14), Byram Hills (18) and Rye (19) also made the top 20 out more than 1,200 schools. Nanuet High School staked Rockland County s place in the top 100, ranking No. 96. The top-ranking high school in Putnam County is Haldane High School, coming in at No. 125. Townsend Harris High School in Queens maintained its 2020 spot as the No. 1 high school in New York. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, kept its ranking as the top high school in the country.

Nine Tennessee Valley Schools are among the Top 25 in the state according to U.S. News and World Report! WAFF followed up with two of those schools in the Shoals to find out what the ranking means for students. The U.S. News Top 25 school rankings are based on how well school systems prepare students for college. There are more than 370 high schools statewide. Muscle Shoals High School ranked 24th and their neighbors over at Russellville High School came in at 21st.
