Africa has variously been described as blessed with a key demographic dividend its youth. A collection of energetic, driven, skilled and aspiring population, Africa’s youth is notably leading significant positive change in many different spheres. From technology and entertainment to sports and finance, the youth is helping to define a new, more honourable path for Africa.
Sadly, the system, for the most part, has not been favourable enough for the youth. The African youth has generally been systemically limited, sometimes through deliberate policies, other times through a lack of youth-interest awareness by the ruling class dominated by the older generation.
He shot from the hips as he is wont to do. He never minces words and I think the believe in his infallibility or inability to contain him gives him the courage to say things mere mortals do not dare to say.
For fear, I will not repeat the things he had said but I will say that those things are the core of the issue we face since 2015. It takes a lot of courage, believe in infallibility or not, to come out to say those things he has said.
I have followed the Reverend since the times of the military. To my mind, he is positioned as the famed South African Clergy man, Desmond Tutu, who stood firmly against the evil Apartheid system, earning even as much accolade as the legend himself- Nelson Mandela.

‘Leg Over’ crooner, Tosin Ajibade aka Mr Eazi has been robbed in Ghana by unknown men following a visit after he flew into the West African country from neighbouring Seirra Leone.
The Nigerian singer took to his Twitter page on Wednesday morning to inform his 2.3 million followers on the social media platform that he lost his phone and laptop to the runaway thieves.
Mr Eazi also used the medium to appeal for help from Ghanaian celebrities to assist him recover his stolen items.
Mr Eazi wrote, “Abeg If Anybody see my laptop for Accra make e halla me! I go give am some cool £. Lmao but on a real anybody wey find am I promise I go do u well. It is becoming clearer that drug abuses and self-medication are more pronounced among the young especially those with hearing-impairment.
