Bato Dela Rosa and AFP s education, training and doctrine chief agree on the revival of mandatory ROTC amidst threat in West Philippine Sea
A senior officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has echoed the need for the revival of ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps), which is being pushed by Senator Ronald Bato Dela Rosa under his Senate Bill No. 227 (SBN 227).
Commodore Antonio Palces, deputy chief of AFP s education training and doctrine nominated to the rank of Real Admiral, answered in the affirmative when asked by Dela Rosa, vice chairman of CA s Committee on National Defense, if ROTC should be revived.

DAET, Camarines Norte, May 27 (PIA) The local government unit of Jose Panganiban hosted the 2nd Online Information Caravan brought by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) together with Camarines Norte Communicators Network (CNCN), held May 22.

May 21, 2021 FORTY-NINE persons deprived of liberty (PDL) or inmates and six personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Negros Occidental have been infected with the Covid-19 virus.
Jail Chief Inspector Jairus Anthony Dogelio, spokesperson for BJMP-Western Visayas, said the 49 infected inmates were from various district jails in Negros Occidental. He also confirmed six BJMP personnel in the province who were also infected, although three were recovering.
Dogelio said 25 of the 49 PDLs were already finishing their 14-day quarantine and will soon undergo another round of swab testing to confirm if they are no longer infected with the virus.
