Kathryn Campbell, a former Human Services chief and a major-general in the Australian Army Reserve, has been appointed secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to replace Frances Adamson. Ms Adamson has been appointed the governor of South Australia. Campbell and Griggs will take the reins of their respective departments on July 22, while Jones will start on August 16. All three appointments have five-year tenures.
