Published April 9, 2021 3:19pm The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will have to cut down the number of COVID-19 contact tracers that it will be hiring to just a third of the original 14,000, or around 5,000 due to budget constraints. Director Ma. Karina Trayvilla of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns disclosed this during the Laging Handa briefing on Friday, noting that number has to be reduced since the budget allotted for it only covers a month, when the tracers will actually be working for three months.
