Special Olympics Georgia Hosts 12th Annual Polar Plunge

bear the cold waters of Acworth Beach on Saturday, February 20
th to support the 26,620 athletes of Special Olympics Georgia in the 12
th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge.
This event is one of the
coolest of the year, where participants raise money and plunge into the chilly waters of Lake Acworth. Plungers bring the excitement to this event by dressing up in crazy costumes and celebrating the success of their fundraising efforts in which all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Georgia athletes.
The Plunge will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 1:00 p.m., or until all teams have plunged. We welcome all media to join us for this chilly day of impactful plunges as we get freezin for a reason in support of the athletes! For more information and to register, visit www.polarplungega.org.

With the new year underway, the Forsyth County Board of Education has welcomed its newly elected member, District 5 representative Lindsey Adams, who is taking over the seat recently vacated by longtime member and chair Nancy Roche.
A former educator and mother to four Forsyth County Schools students, Adams was sworn in to her new position on the board after its last meeting in December, taking a moment to thank her family, the other board members and Superintendent Dr. Jeff Bearden for their continued support.
