NABU initiates Tatarov s arrest - Sytnyk

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) will ask the court to arrest Deputy Head of the President s Office Oleh Tatarov, with the possibility of posting bail, NABU Director Artem Sytnyk has said in an interview with Current Time TV. NABU is initiating [Tatarov s] arrest, with the possibility of posting bail, but I don t know what decision the prosecutor will make, Sytnyk said.
On December 21, Tatarov came to the NABU where he received a suspicion notice. He also wrote a statement on the temporary suspension of his official duties and their transfer to another official.
SAPO to ask court to arrest Tatarov with alternative bail of UAH 10 mln 2 min read
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor s Office (SAPO) handed Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleh Tatarov a request to elect him a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative to bail of UAH 10 million, the SAPO told Interfax-Ukraine. Tatarov has been handed today a petition to choose a preventive measure, the prosecutor s office said, noting that the prosecutor s office would ask for arrest with the alternative of paying a bail in the amount of UAH 10 million.
The motion will be considered by the High Anti-Corruption Court. The date of consideration is not known yet.

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have handed a notice of suspicion to an individual who had accepted an Hr 950,000 ($33,700) bribe for lobbying decisions at UkrSpetsEksport, a state-run company having a monopoly on arms deals in foreign markets.
As the NABU reported on Dec. 21, the suspect “together with a number of other individuals in 2015–2017 was running a graft scheme,” which envisaged providing items of unknown origins to enterprises of state-run defense giant UkrOboronProm “via limited liability company OptimumSpetsDetal and other entities.”

Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have served with charges of a person who received an unlawful benefit for providing an interest-free UAH 7 million in favor of state-owned enterprise Zhytomyr Armor Plant.
The press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) said on Facebook that in 2016 the officials of Optimumspetsdetal LLC contacted the suspect, whose relative, at that time, worked in the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine as well as in the Interdepartmental Commission on the Defense Industry Complex with a request to influence the decision-making on the granting of Hr 7 million to Zhytomyr Armor Plant, for which the enterprise paid its financial obligations to Optimumspetsdetal in the contract for the supply of goods.

The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office on Dec. 18 authorized a notice of suspicion for Oleh Tatarov, deputy head of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s administration, according to a Kyiv Post source close to the investigation, who wasn’t authorized to speak to the press. Several Ukrainian media outlets reported the same, citing their sources.
The signing of the notice came as the culmination of the weeks-long conflict between Tatarov and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) that is investigating him on bribery charges.
